"Drops of Brandy" - on Scottish Smallpipes
|
Okay - I am a ham!
Whether in concert, or giving a presentation ... I love to talk about the instruments - their history, how they work. I love to talk about the tunes - where they come from, what to listen for. I love to talk about the regalia - all the parts, their utility. Oh - and I love to play the music for you, too! |

"Kevin stepped in the at the last minute to play a concert at St. Mark's Church, LeRoy to help out the original performer who had gotten sick. With just 24 hours notice, Kevin put together a wonderful one-hour program that introduced the audience to bagpipes and related instruments (the great Highland pipes, the Irish small pipes, the Irish tin whistle, and the French bombard). His talk about the instruments and music was both informative and humorous. The audience was fully engaged, and they really enjoyed hearing the pipes and the various sounds produced! As a special piece for the day (being Juneteenth), Kevin put together a medley for the tin whistle of two songs that celebrated the freedom from slavery of Black Americans, including Amazing Grace and Hymn to Freedom by Oscar Peterson. A truly amazing evening of great music."

"Kevin was the perfect addition to our Irish dinner experience! Not only is extremely talented but on the business side, he was great to work with. The residents and staff were beyond impressed and we can't wait to utilize him again for both educational purposes and his music." ~ Lindsay L. (The Village at Unity & The Hamlet, Rochester, NY) |
